It's been really fun making this record, and I'm so grateful to all the people involved. Sam Kelly is not only a brilliant singer, but a talented producer - he recorded and produced the EP. Thanks to Jamie Francis for his exceptional ear for melody/ banjo panache/ walnut whips, and to these incredible musicians: Lukas Drinkwater, Ciaran Algar, Maya McCourt and Kieran Giffen. Rusty (Josh Franklin) did a brilliant job of mixing the tracks from his studio in Brighton, and the talented Todd MacDonald came down to Somerset to do the beautiful photography you see on and in the CD sleeve (the website pics too), and helped me make that ever-crucial decision of which jumper to wear.
Sean Lakeman gave invaluable advice at the production stage of the process, and both he and Kathryn Roberts have been unbelievably supportive over the past few months of recording and touring.
The EP was recorded down in Looe in Cornwall in Sam and Jamie's flat on the quay - the main challenge being finding a quiet moment to record amid incessant sea gulls...
I'm so proud of this! Hope you like it x
