Phew, what a month! A busy May culminated in an unforgettable trip to Belgium, meeting a bunch of talented musicians for two intense days of rehearsals and a collaborative concert at Merodefestival in a beautiful open air amphitheatre in Diest. Great to be reunited with the effervescent Mohsen Amini (we were both semi-finalists for the BBC Young Folk Award in 2015) and work with wonderful Belgian musicians Naomi Vercauteren, Jeroen Knapen, Gunnar Van Hove, Wim Moons and Vincent Noiret for the first time. Feeling very lucky to have been invited into the special and inspiring community of Merodefestival. Here's a little write-up of the evening concert.
